A few things are consistently true about moving in Largo, whichever street you are on.
It is the middle of the county, and the traffic proves it. Ulmerton Road, East Bay Drive and Missouri Avenue carry everyone crossing Pinellas, and they behave completely differently at 8am, noon and 4pm. We build the crossing into the schedule instead of hoping.
Manufactured home and 55+ communities have their own rulebook. Gate codes, visitor passes, interior lanes too narrow for a 26-foot truck, and office hours that decide whether you can get in at all. We call ahead and shuttle with a smaller vehicle when a lane demands it.
A lot of the housing is single-storey block from the 1950s to 1970s. That is good news for stairs and bad news for doorways. Older interior door frames and tight hallway corners are the reason we bring the right tools to take a bed frame apart rather than force it.
Carports instead of garages. A great deal of Largo parks under a carport, which means less covered staging space in the rain and a lower clearance than people expect. We plan the load order around that.
Heat is a logistics problem. From June through September an afternoon load is hard on your furniture and our crew. We start those moves early.

Our base is on 12th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, which puts Largo about twenty minutes up the road on a normal morning and considerably longer if we try it in the middle of the afternoon. We come up through the 49th Street or Seminole approaches depending on where in Largo you sit, and we route around the Ulmerton crush rather than into it.

Usually yes, but not always with the big truck. Some interior lanes and overhangs will not take a 26-foot vehicle. We check the approach in advance and shuttle with a smaller truck when the community demands it, at no drama on the day.
Yes, it is one of our largest categories of work here. We coordinate the move-in window with the community office, handle the certificate of insurance, and work at a pace that suits the person moving rather than the clock.
A little. It means less covered space to stage boxes if the weather turns, and lower clearance than a driveway. We plan the load order around it and bring cover if rain is forecast.
